A Bag Factory's AI Transformation
A lot of "AI companies" are pure software. We're not. Our root is a small bag factory in Yiwu, and that changes everything about how we use AI. This post is about where AI actually helps on a factory floor — and where it doesn't.
The factory is our root
We own a small bag workshop: canvas bags, striped bags, custom orders. It's the cash flow that keeps experiments alive. AI isn't replacing the factory; it's the gateway that brings the factory more customers from places we could never visit in person.
Where AI actually helps
- Quoting: Turn a messy inquiry into a structured quote in seconds.
- Visual proof: Recolor and mock up a client's logo on a bag before a single stitch.
- Language: Reply to overseas buyers in their language without a full-time translator.
- Content: Keep the showcase fresh with AI-written posts and photos.
Customers found us before we promoted
The surprising part: once the toolbox and journey posts went live, overseas buyers started reaching out through the very tools we built. The factory stopped being a hidden supplier and became a visible, trustworthy brand.
Factory is the foundation, e-commerce is the cash flow, tools and mini-programs are the traffic gateway.
That's the whole model. AI didn't make us leave manufacturing — it made manufacturing reachable. More on the OPC loop in the previous post.
